Update: August 2017

It has been a busy few weeks here at Motorworks Racing Services which has seen us visit 6 different tracks in 7 weeks, and 3 different countries.

With AF Corse, in the British GT we attended the 3 hours of Silverstone. This was a good race for us, however, we just couldn't catch the 1st and 2nd place cars which meant we had to settle for 3rd place, but 2nd in class.

We also had a trip to Spa-Francorchamps for the 5th round of the British GT. Unfortunately, this event was cut short for us due to a nasty crash during FP1. The driver was unhurt, but the car needed a lot of work. There was no way we could repair the car in time for the race, the damage was too extensive, and we didn't have enough hours to complete the work.

We have also, done a lot of work with the historics. We took 2 historic Formula Fords to Cadwell Park, in June, where we also ran a 1967 Piers Courage McLaren M4A Formula 2 car. The McLaren came away with a pole and 2 race wins, while the Fords qualified pole and 18th, finishing the 1st race in 4th and 11th, and the 2nd race in 2nd and 7th.

We also took 2 Formula Juniors to Brands Hatch at the beginning of July where we also ran 1 Formula Ford. Brabham BT6 Formula Junior qualified P4 and finished the race in P3. The Caravelle Formula Junior qualified P29 but didn't finish the race due to being collected by another spinning car, which resulted in major damage to the right rear suspension. The Formula Ford qualified pole and finished both races in P2.

Our most recent race with the historics was the Silverstone classic, where we ran a total of 5 cars. 2 Formula juniors, and 3 Formula Fords. The Formula Fords qualified pole, 49th and 54th, finishing race 1 in P1, P29 and P44 and race 2 in P1, P1, P26 and P40. The Brabham BT6 qualified P4 and finished P11 in race 1 and DNF in the 2nd, through contact with a back marker. The Dolphin Formula Junior qualified P38 and unfortunately Race 1 finished with a DNF because of a part failure, and we were unable to source a replacement.

We have had a great season so far with the historics in the HSCC package, and look forward to the remaining races.

In between all these race events, we also travelled to Hockenheim and Portimao for private track days with our regular high-profile customer.

The last 2 weeks have been spent in Malaysia and Thailand. Round 3 was in Sepang, Malaysia. This was a condensed week, because we had to get the containers up to Thailand for a race the following week
