The Ginetta G40 race car has been the perfect stepping stone for many successful racing drivers. Many of the drivers who cut their teeth racing the G40, have gone on to race in the Ginetta GT4 Super cup, British GT and various other championships including the Le-mans 24hour and Formula 1.

Being a single-make championship, the Protyre Ginetta GT5 Challenge teaches good race craft and produces close racing and is suitable for all ages and levels of ability. The championship consists 19 races over 7 weekends, which take place on British GT and  British Touring Car Championship race weekends, this gives drivers (and their sponsors) a fantastic opportunity to showcase their talent in front of TV cameras, with the BTCC Support races being shown live on ITV4. Races from British GT weekends are shown on TV post event. There is a PRO and AM class structure within the championship which gives the more inexperienced drivers the chance to get a trophy.

We have many years of experience with the G40, having worked with various teams who compete in both the Junior category, and the GT5 Challenge.

Ginetta offer all drivers track-side complimentary hospitality at all events plus a parts truck, for those on-track mishaps. Meaning teams do not have to buy and transport a truck-load of parts to all events. Parts can be bought on-site which gives better chance of having the car repaired for the next session.
