The Ginetta G40 Cup is the perfect entry level race series for anyone who wants to start racing, whatever their age.

Based on the road-legal version of the G40, with a 5 speed synchro mesh gearbox (as opposed to the 6-speed Quaife sequential gearbox found in the Ginetta Junior and GT5 cars) with a 1.8L Zetec engine, with 135bhp and a minimum weight of 840kg the cars still manage a top speed of 125mph.

Like all the Ginetta G40 championships, the racing is close, due to the identical specifications of the cars and tight controls and is a great stepping stone into the GT5 challenge and beyond.

The championship consists of 18 races, on 6 race weekends, all of which support British GT races. As with all the Ginetta championships, Ginetta provides complimentary hospitality at all race events, as well as parts and technical support which means teams do not have to buy and transport a truck-load of spares to each race and ensures better chance of repairing the car for the next session should the need arise.

Races are recorded and shown on TV post event-good to show sponsors and supporters.

The winner of the championship gets free entry into the GT5 Challenge for 2020, while the runner-up gets half price entry in the GT5 challenge.
